Wednesday 4th April
The Omen
It came in the night.
A feathered darkness
hung over this house
like a large, hunched
crow.
Its talons gripping,
splintering the roof tiles
as it spread its wings
across the chimney tops
and screeched
our history
over the valley.
Tuesday 3rd April
Cavities
You need a filling
again.
You need filling.
Again
the spaces open up,
gaping away inside you.
Again.
They grow ever wider,
ever deeper,
plunging down,
clawing away at your nerves.
Again.
Into some black hole
at the bottom
of the crevasse,
the cold, metal
intruder comes
to prod your sensitivities.
